Medium level support is well suited to those who have been suffering with addictions and problems associated with substance abuse. One of the benefits of staying with us is that from a safe and stable environment we are able to refer residents to appropriate counsellors who can provide the specialist help many require. As part of our commitment to helping those with mental health problems it is important that even when they leave residents do not find themselves isolated and without access to a continued support network.
In addition to treating problems residents face from a mental health standpoint, we work hard to help restore a sense of self-worth, achievement and self-belief. This is also achieved through education and training with practical skills that will be required to enable an independent life to be lead. That is what, to us, empowerment is all about. Our life-skills training involves learning basic cooking skills, financial budgeting, understanding about basic hygiene, to mention just a few elements.
Medium-level care available in our supported accommodation in Chingford is ideal for those with mental health problems which can be alleviated with a high level of encouragement, counselling and confidence building from our support workers. The units at Leonard Road are for both men and women and provide a very positive environment for those who feel they are no longer able to cope with the everyday challenges of life.
